Skills for your coding agent
Give Claude Code or Codex taiku's own skills, so it can set you up, move your projects over, or build a plugin, and keep them current as taiku changes.
taiku comes with a few skills for coding agents: short instruction files an agent loads when a task matches. With them installed, you can ask Claude Code or Codex to "set me up with taiku" or "move my projects onto taiku" and it follows taiku's own steps instead of guessing.
| Skill | What it helps the agent do |
|---|---|
taiku-getting-started | Install taiku, sign in, start and share a first session |
taiku-migrate | Move one project, a second computer, or a whole laptop onto taiku |
taiku-plugin-authoring | Build a taiku plugin with the SDK and get it loaded in a session |
taiku-session-launch | Start a session and hand back a link the agent can drive |
taiku-verify | Check that something it set up in taiku actually works |
Install them
taiku skills installThis writes them into ~/.claude/skills and ~/.codex/skills, for whichever of
the two you use on this machine (Claude Code if neither is set up yet). Name
skills to install only some, and add --for claude, --for codex or
--for all to choose the agent.
See where you stand
taiku skillsEach skill is listed per agent as current, out of date, changed by you, or not installed. If taiku.live runs a newer taiku with newer skill text than your CLI has, it says so.
Keeping them current
Every installed skill records which taiku release wrote it. When you update
taiku, however you updated it, the next time you run it outside a taiku session
(starting a session, taiku update and so on) it brings installed skills up to
that release and tells you which ones it changed. It never installs a skill you
did not install.
To get newer text from taiku.live before your next CLI update:
taiku skills update --from-serverA skill you edited yourself is never overwritten. taiku skills shows it as
changed by you; pass --force to install or update if you want taiku's copy
back.
Removing them
taiku skills removeThis removes taiku's copies and leaves any skill you changed, or wrote yourself under the same name.
