Settings

Change key bindings, look after saved credentials, manage plugins and devices, and switch to plain ASCII on terminals without Unicode.

Open settings

Press Ctrl-k, type settings, and press Enter. Start typing to find a setting by name, or move down the list with the arrow keys and press Enter to open a section.

Settings are saved to a file, so you can also edit them by hand:

SystemFile
Linux~/.config/taiku/tui.json
macOS~/Library/Application Support/taiku/tui.json
Windows%APPDATA%\taiku\tui.json

Key bindings

The keyboard section lists every binding. Pick one to change it. If you get into a tangle, one row restores the default keymap.

Credentials

Press Ctrl-k and type keychain to open credentials, the keys and tokens taiku keeps for you. The page stays readable when the terminal is narrow.

Plugins

Terminals without Unicode

Some terminals, serial consoles and old SSH setups can't draw box lines or symbols. taiku notices most of these by itself. If yours gets missed, search settings for symbols and choose ascii. Every border, icon and marker is then drawn with plain ASCII.
