Work from the terminal
Work in taiku from inside the terminal you already have open. Panes, tabs, previews and agents, drawn in text, driven from the keyboard or the mouse.
taiku tui opens your session inside the terminal you are sitting in. There is
no browser and no desktop app involved, so it works over SSH, on a server with
no display, and anywhere a browser tab would be one window too many.
Start it
taiku tuiIt connects to your account the same way the CLI does. To start somewhere specific, pass a directory:
taiku tui -C ~/code/apiWith no account, or with no network, taiku tui --offline runs against a server
on this machine instead.
All the options are in the CLI reference.
The prefix
Most commands are two keys: Ctrl-b, then a letter. Ctrl-b is called the
prefix. If you have used tmux, the letters are mostly the ones you already know:
% splits right, " splits down, c makes a tab, z zooms.
While the prefix is waiting for its second key, the status row at the bottom
says PREFIX. Press Esc to back out.
Two keys work without the prefix:
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ctrl-k | Open the command palette |
| Ctrl-Alt-f | Find text in the focused pane |
Ctrl-b then ? shows every binding, and every binding can be changed in
settings.
Inside tmux, tmux takes Ctrl-b before taiku sees it. Either press it twice, or rebind taiku's prefix in settings.
